I live in the katy area as well and most of my limited kayak voyages have been into the matagorda bay system. it is usually easiest and gives you the most fishing options for different weather pattterns to go into matagorda and cross the intercoastal bridge then use the cuts into east bay or take parkers cut into west bay..
